The Road to Becoming Me Looking back, I always knew that I wanted to teach; but I also knew my pro-business and stanchly conservative father would not be pleased. He did not seem to understand why I would settle on a career in article of faith when I could be so much more. I see things differently, and yet, his approval stand for a great deal to me. While I was in high school, I volunteered at an inner city dim-witted school.
